Portrait of Dr. Charles A. Moody Jr., Community Coalition for Health

Founder and Chief Strategist

Dr. Charles A. Moody Jr.

A strategist who connects satellite data, public health research, and church pews to solve real problems in real neighborhoods.

Dr. Moody co-founded C2H in 2014 after seeing how obesity-related illnesses like diabetes were harming minority communities across Central Texas. He wanted C2H to become a hub that links local, regional, and national health groups so families get better care.

Today he leads C2H's research work on climate and health. His current projects include Austin CARES (Climate Adaptation Resilient Communities), supported by NASA Earth Observations, and a heatwave resilience project that builds digital climate tools. Both mix climate data, health data, and what residents know firsthand to help leaders protect at-risk neighbors. That work connects to the University of Texas initiatives Planet Texas and Whole Communities, Whole Health, and shapes our Heat Simulation Experience.

Outside C2H, he founded Alpha Preparatory Academy and Moody Housing, serves as Senior Pastor of The ROCK ATX, and has served as a police chaplain in Austin and Round Rock and as an adjunct professor at Austin Community College.

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Mia Greer

A nurse, operator, and builder who has planned and launched every C2H program since day one.

Mia brings more than 35 years in nursing and healthcare leadership, including 30 years in management. Before C2H, she spent eight years running operations for a national laboratory and helped start up and run labs in 13 states. That experience taught her how to build systems that work, then keep them working.

At C2H, Mia is the bridge between the community and the organization. She champions our diabetes program, which gives patients the tools to manage or prevent the disease and keeps them motivated to live healthier, more intentional lives. She has also spoken at the 2023 CTAAFSC conference about how chronic disease affects mental health.

Colleagues describe Mia as compassionate, focused, resilient, and wise. A lifelong reader and world traveler, she has learned from health systems and cultures around the globe. She was mentored in leadership by Dr. Bramwell Osula of Regent University's School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

What guides us

Four beliefs our whole team shares

Our backgrounds are different, but these beliefs show up in everything we do as a community health coalition in Texas.

Rooted in community
We live, worship, and serve in the same neighborhoods we work in. Trust is earned face to face.
Grounded in research
We use real data and proven models, like our ADA-approved diabetes approach, so help actually works.
Built on relationships
Partners, pastors, schools, and families all have a seat at the table. No one solves this alone.
Focused on results
We measure success by families served, leaders trained, and gaps closed, not by good intentions.
