Vitals and Vibes is our yearly health day. It brings community organizations, academic partners, local leaders, and neighbors together in one place. Guests get wellness resources, health education, and practical tips to live a healthier, more balanced life.
It is one of our most popular community wellness programs in Austin because it feels like a celebration, not a clinic. Small steps lead to a healthier you, and a stronger neighborhood.

Central Texas summers are getting longer and hotter. The Heat Simulation Experience is a hands-on activity that shows how extreme heat affects people, families, and whole neighborhoods. Community members, leaders, and organizations walk through real scenarios together.
By mixing local knowledge with public health research, participants build community-informed solutions. This is community outreach for health equity in action, because the people most exposed to heat help shape the plan to stay safe.
heat-related illness cases were treated at Austin-area emergency rooms in 2026 as of August, including 43 cases of heat stroke. East Austin also has some of the hottest temperatures in the city.
