The Community Health Leadership Fellowship (C.H.L.F.) is a paid, intergenerational leadership and workforce development program led by the Community Coalition for Health (C2H). College fellows are selected, trained, mentored, and compensated as emerging leaders who play a vital role in advancing C2H’s community health initiatives. Through engaging instruction, real-world outreach, and intentional leadership development activities, fellows gain practical tools to help individuals and families navigate health-related information and resources with confidence. The Community Health Leadership Fellowship also serves as a long-term leadership and workforce development pipeline, connecting education, service, and community impact across generations.

The Community Health Leadership Fellowship offers an engaging, hands-on leadership experience that equips you to tackle real-world community health challenges through dynamic education, meaningful service, and guided practice alongside peers and mentors. C.H.L.F. helps us focus on highlights clear communication, practical health navigation skills, and relationship-based community engagement, helping you grow as a confident, effective leader in your community.
C.H.L.F. is designed for enrolled undergraduate students in Central Texas who are interested in community health, leadership development, and service. Students pursuing studies or career paths related to health, education, nonprofit leadership, ministry, or public service are encouraged to apply.
No prior health experience is required. Applicants should demonstrate reliability, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to serving others.
College fellows participate in structured training focused on health navigation, leadership skills, facilitation, and effective communication.
Fellows apply their learning through community outreach activities, health-related events, and direct support for individuals seeking guidance on health information and resources. Ongoing mentorship, cohort meetings, and professional development sessions provide consistent support throughout the fellowship period.
During the summer, college fellows serve as near-peer mentors and facilitators for a six-week program designed for high school students.
The curriculum emphasizes wellness, understanding healthcare systems, leadership habits, and community responsibility through interactive and age-appropriate activities.
College fellows receive a $500 monthly stipend during the fellowship period. This compensation supports participation in training, outreach activities, leadership development sessions, and mentorship responsibilities throughout both academic-year and summer components.
C.H.L.F. is intentionally structured to reduce financial obstacles that can limit participation in professional development opportunities. Compensation allows fellows to focus on skill-building, service, and leadership growth.

Onboarding & Training
Accepted fellows complete onboarding requirements and begin structured training and
preparation.
Fellowship Experience Begins
